General maintenance guide to your AIO unit (scanner with printer) inkjet printer:

If you have an MPC-190 all-in-one printer, which features the ability to scan, copy, and the ink on scanned items appears outside the unit, have excessive amounts of dust or dirt, or if there are recurring smudges or other marks on documents or scanned items, it may be necessary to clean certain parts of the scanner. In addition, the scanner should be cleaned and recalibrated if there are black or white lines running through copies, sent faxes, or scanned items.

To clean the scanner path, follow these steps:

Disconnect the product from its power source.
Open the document release door.
If the long white strip, on the inside of the document release door is dirty, clean it with a dry cotton swab. If dirt or debris remains on the strip, use a cotton swab with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol to gently clean the strip. If using alcohol, apply a very small amount. Exposing internal parts to dripping alcohol can cause damage.
