MAKING THE CARTRIDGE READY FOR REFILLING :
Clean the cartridge of
any free ink spread at the bottom of the ink outlet / vent hole.
BOTTOM refill process is the safest and can be easily done. weigh
the cartridge and note down the weight on a piece of paper.
Calculate the ml of ink required.
IDENTIFYING THE VENT
HOLES :
The BCI-24 Color compatible cartridge has three vent holes at the
bottom part of the cartridge. Cartridge's with less or no ink will
develop a small white dry spot in the centre of the sponge ( more
clearly visible on yellow pad). The bigger the size of the white
patch the dry the cartridge is. So fill up the cartridge before the
sponge completely dries up.
INJECTING INK :
Have the hole you are filling slightly angled as shown in the
picture next. Color can only take about 2.5 ml when empty, so don't
expect much. Place the needle all the way close to the sponge at the
vent hole.
NOTE: Don't pierce the needle in to the Sponge.
Inject S-L-O-W-L-Y to fill the entire cartridge. As the sponge gets
filled up ink will take while to get into the cartridge. Stop
filling when ink droplets on the sponge take more time to absorb.
Set on a paper towel for an hour as a drip precaution. Expect a few
drips. Cover all holes during storage to prevent leaks and
evaporation by replacing the CAP.
Replace the cartridge and run 1 - 3
cleaning cycles as per printer instructions.
